Kitchens are often considered the heart of the home. They bring people together and are a place to entertain. Kitchen design is a personal experience that is tailored to suit the homeowner’s exact needs and desires. With endless options available it can be hard to decide what to invest in and what to avoid. We will look at some of our must-have kitchen features for your next kitchen renovation!

Oil & Spice Storage Solution

  • Spice dividers for drawers are a great option if you are low on cabinet space. You can have one or two dedicated drawers to organize all your spices. Drawers allow for easy access and keep things neatly organized.
  • Narrow pull-out oil and spice cabinets are excellent if you have the space for them. They allow for taller oil bottles to be easily stacked and provide a convenient storage location, as they are often installed right next to the cooktop or stove.
  • If you are low on cabinet space in your kitchen, you can consider a small recessed niche. This allows for easy access and visibility of all your items. It is important to maintain this niche and keep it organized as all items are always on display.
  • The final solution for storing your oils and spices would be a countertop shelf, if your kitchen doesn’t allow for any of the options mentioned above. The downside is that this takes up valuable counter space and needs to be well-kept at all times.

Built-In Knife Block

  • Knives can be tricky to store and many homeowners have multiples. They are also very expensive and need to be maintained. A custom-made block within your drawer is a must-have as It allows you to keep these tools organized and ensures they are not getting damaged.

Built-in Pullout Waste and Recycling

  • Custom-made bins can be made by your millworker to fit the exact dimensions of your cabinet. This ensures that no valuable space is being left unused.
  • There are several standard-sized bins available on the market that can be universally installed in most cabinets. Having adequate space for waste is crucial when designing a practical kitchen. This needs to be easily accessible, separated by type of waste, and big enough for your everyday needs. We would never design a kitchen without incorporating the appropriate waste management system to fit the user’s everyday needs.
  • These systems allow for the waste to be hidden behind cabinets and avoid bins being on display in the kitchen.

Custom Cutlery & Utensil Dividers

  • Can be customized by your millworker to fit the exact dimensions of your drawer to ensure that no space is being wasted.
  • These are a critical part of every kitchen as they keep cutlery and utensils neatly organized and make it easy for users to locate items.
  • Available in several sizes, materials, and configurations depending on the user’s needs and design preferences.

Under Cabinet Lighting

  • A definite must-have for your next kitchen reno if you have a lot of upper cabinets. The lighting not only acts as ambient lighting at night but is also functional. The illumination of the countertop and work surface is a game changer when it comes to cooking and food preparation. This is one feature we can’t live without.
  • Available in different lighting options such as LED strip lights or LED puck lights. Also available in different colour temperatures, so you can match the rest of your home.

Appliance Garage

  • Appliance garages are a clever solution to an everyday problem. They eliminate the clutter caused by appliances being placed on the countertop, while still being very easily accessible.
  • Small appliances are not always on display and are hidden behind closed doors. However, this may not be suitable for all kitchen layouts, but a definite must-have if your kitchen allows for one.

Lemans Corner Cabinet Storage Solution

  • An amazing solution to utilize awkward blind corner cabinets within the kitchen. These cabinets are often hard to reach and go unused or get filled with junk. The lemans system allows for ease of access and utilizes every inch of these cabinets. It is also capable of holding a large amount of weight and is suitable for storing larger items.

Pot Filler

  • A game changer especially for those who love to cook! Once you have this luxurious upgrade, you’ll never want to live without it. Pot fillers can be pricy but we recommend the upgrade if your budget allows it!
  • Available in many finishes and design styles to match your kitchen aesthetic.

Tray Dividers

  • Can be placed in any cabinet within the kitchen, we recommend a cabinet that doesn’t get utilized as much and is in a less prominent location.
  • Great for storing cutting boards, trays, and baking sheets.

Pantry Cabinet

  • Pantry cabinets are a great way to organize your inventory and have your items on display behind closed doors. A must-have in any kitchen if you do not have a separate pantry.
  • Provides versatile storage solutions that are completely customizable to fit the user’s unique needs. Shallow-depth cabinets, full-depth with pullout drawers,  or cabinets with adjustable shelving, the options are endless!
